This (click the above picture to get to the link) is a great website full of online manipulatives. In particular, I like the base blocks subtraction, because it illustrates the need to borrow, and you can drag a tens block into the ones column and then you are able to solve the problem.
I encourage you to explore this site if your child is struggling with math, because it gives them the ability to visualize tough concepts like borrowing.
